SLAVUTYCH: HOME VISIT

Activities program for children and teens

 

The program invites children and teenagers to discover together a special poetics of Slavutych, which feels like home and unites guests with the locals.

 

3- to 8-year-olds will get to spend time under the supervision of teachers from the family café Kino. The space allows to find out about interesting professions inside the specifically created small buildings (store, bakery, workshop etc) which are filled with everything important to play, draw, and make new friends.

 

Special price for the kids of festival goers: 50 UAH/day (badge/bracelet/ticket must be presented).

Opening hours: 11 a.m. till 7 p.m.

 

10- to 15-year-olds, both locals and Slavutych visitors invite to take part in the experimental research program Slavutysch: Home Visit.

 

Together we’ll try to explore the meaning and understanding of intimacy in modern world through the experiment, research, and reenactment of everyday practices and individual rituals. We’ll look into the formation of private and public environments, and how their boundaries have changed over time, as well as thinking about limits of personal at home and in a city space. Moreover, we’ll try to understand how a place we are occupying affects our movements and interaction with space. Which kind of rhythms, movements, impulses, and pictures appear in different places, how body and space interact, and how closely could they contact with each other.

 

Duration of the program: from 29.04 till 01.05, from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. (with a break from 1 p.m. till
2 p.m.).

 

For all kids older than 6, as part of the “86” Children’s Program, every day trainings and city walks will take place, also visits to the special programs of the festival (including land art).

 

Meeting point: near café Kino at 5 a.m. daily. Duration: up to 2 hours.

 

Registration for the program

 

At 7:30 p.m. we invite everyone to free screenings of films for children and teenagers (8+) from the program partner Children Kinofest, in the café Kino. The screenings will be followed by discussions with viewers.

 

Location: Kino family café, 7 Druzhby Narodiv avenue.
